Laura is the ABSP Secretary, having taken over from Amy Byrne in September 2008.

Laura has been playing competitive Scrabble since the 1970s and was a founder member of the APSP. With her late husband Pete, Laura organised many one day and weekend tournaments including the annual Durham weekend, which has been going for 21 years.

Being a teacher in an East Durham comprehensive school keeps Laura fairly busy, but in her spare time she enjoys reading, crosswords and Sudoku. Laura has two sons, Ian and Stuart, neither of whom show any interest in playing Scrabble...
