The ABSP

The ABSP is the association which coordinates all tournament Scrabble in the UK.

Our members range from the best players in the UK to people who enjoy tournaments mainly as social events.Tournament Scrabble - great fun! We also have non-tournament players who are members just to receive our magazine, The Last Word, which is published every two months and has many Scrabble-related articles and puzzles, as well as details of all upcoming rated tournaments (with entry forms enclosed). Members also get an annual handbook and price reductions on all events.

We have been providing support for all tournament organisers since 1987, and we maintain an excellent ratings systemPlayers at the 2002 BMSC which incorporates results from around 70 rated events across the country every year. Have a look at the Calendar and Ratings sections to learn more. See the Advice for New Players section to find out how to enter a tournament, and what it's like to play in one.

ABSP Membership is £15 for 2008, which includes six issues of The Last Word magazine delivered to your doorstep, plus a members' handbook and discounts on Scrabble tournaments and merchandise.
