Philip has been one of the country's top Scrabble players for more than twenty years.
He is listed in the Guinness Book of Records for having won the National Scrabble Championship a record four times
and in 1993 he represented England in the World Scrabble Championship in New York.
He is co-author and chairman of the committee which compiled Official Scrabble Words, has written many articles and one book on the game and devised Scrabble puzzles for numerous magazines and newspapers.
Philip is a founder member and former chairman of the Association of British Scrabble Players and now works for Spears Games, part of Mattel Inc. (the owners of Scrabble outside of the US), as Promotions and Licensing Manager; promoting the game, forming Scrabble Clubs and organising national and international competitions.
