Kat Wilkes is a relative newcomer to the game, but in the last couple of years she has got hooked, and wants to get young people as interested in wordplay as she is.
Combining her job as a teacher in a large comprehensive school with her Scrabble addiction, she is helping to promote Schools Scrabble and hopefully bringing in some new talent to the tournament scene.
Kat helped to organise and direct the 2007 National Schools Championship, which ran parallel to the National Scrabble Championships Finals in London.
She is married with four children and owns a large, smelly German Shepherd. (The dog, not a European herder of woolly creatures.)
