Elmbank Hotel

Situated close to the historic city of York, within easy access of the North York Moors, Herriot Country and the picturesque North East coastline, the Elmbank Hotel provides an ideal base for all visitors whether travelling on business or pleasure.

Designed by architects J. B. & W. Atksinson and built around 1870, the Elmbank is a city hotel with a country house atmosphere. Murals, frescoes, a magnificent oak staircase leading to a gallery with stained glass windows are just a few of the fine examples of art nouveau introduced in the interior of the hotel by George Walton, follower of Charles Rennie Macintosh.

Each of the 63 comfortable non-smoking bedrooms, including 15 rooms in the adjacent Elmbank Lodge are equipped with modern amenities.

Free Wifi is available in the foyer and playing area. Other facilities include bar and restaurant. The bar is open 11am-11pm. The restaurant serves breakfast (residents only, 7.30-9.30), and a 3-course or bar dinner (6.30-9.00)

Elmbank Hotel is situated just off the A1036 (also known as The Mount), with the main building sitting on the left of Driffield Terrace.
