Coventry is a historical city located in the West Midlands. The city itself has gone through many changes from the early economy based upon manufacture of simple materials to rebuilding after German bombing in World War II. While much of Coventry was destroyed during those attacks some links to the past still remain such as the Lady Godiva statue and the Cathedral of St Michaels built between 1956 and 1962 alongside the remains of the old cathedral. The city boasts a good selection of shops, whether you're walking through one of the modern shopping centres or browsing around the retail market you'll find what you are looking for. If you're after a day out then there are museums covering transport and toys, the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum as well as theatres and gardens.
