Association of British Scrabble Players
Major Tournament Winners

This is the roll of honour of major event winners since 1987.

The Winnner Takes It All The National Scrabble Championships is organised by Mattel, the Scrabble trademark owners, and has had a variety of formats over its years of existence. More recently the event has been a joint effort between Mattel and the ABSP.

The British Matchplay Scrabble Championships (BMSC) is the flagship event of the ABSP. Consisting of 17 games played over the August Bank Holiday weekend, it was held in Nottingham until 2001, moved to Birmingham until 2004 but has more recently found a home at Yarnfield Conference Centre in Staffordshire.

The ABSP Masters is an elite invitational event for the 16 best players in the UK. It is a 'round robin' event (i.e. everyone plays everyone else once) held in 2004 at La Manoir Aux Quat Saisons restaurant in Oxfordshire.

Other Major Events

The four weekend tournaments below are held in March, April, July and December respectively. They are considered to be the 'Majors' of Scrabble and were officially ABSP tournaments until 2002. Now independent events run by the same organisers, they are still considered to be 'the big four' after the BMSC and National Championships.
