About the ABSP

The Association of British Scrabble Players (ABSP) was formed in 1987 as a not-for-profit association to promote interest in the playing of Scrabble. It co-ordinates tournaments and the provision of a rating system for players in the UK, as well as providing information and support to members, tournament organisers and tournament directors.

Our members range from the best players in the UK to people who enjoy tournaments mainly as social events.Tournament Scrabble - great fun!

We also have non-tournament players who are members just to receive our magazine, OnBoard (on the database, login required), which is published every two months. Other publications, including tournament officials' handbooks are on the publications page.

Players at the 2002 BMSC We have been providing support and resources for all tournament organisers since 1987, and we maintain a ratings system and an associated results database.

We maintain a Tournament Calendar of upcoming rated events. New players are always welcome at tournaments (and your first one-day tournament is free to enter!)
